ISO BCMS 22301:2019 (Business Continuity Management System) Lead Auditor Course
Course Aim:
To provide delegates with the knowledge and abilities needed to execute first, second, and third-party audits of business continuity management systems against ISO 22301, in line with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, where appropriate.
Course Description:
Our Business Continuity Management Systems Lead Auditor Training Course provides basic auditing principles and procedures in accordance with national and worldwide approved standards and legislation relevant to business continuity (BC) needs. Delegates will also obtain auditing skills through activity-based learning and practical auditing experience with coaching, group activities, and open forum discussions by attending this course. Delegates will be guided through the whole audit process, from beginning to end, by experienced Aim Vision Safety tutors.
Successful completion of this Aim Vision Safety approved training course, as demonstrated by passing the applicable test and skills assessment, will demonstrate the knowledge and fundamental abilities required to conduct and lead a management systems audit.

Knowledge:
- Explain the goal of a business continuity management system, the standards for business continuity management systems, management system auditing, third-party certification, and the business benefits of better business continuity management system performance.
- Explain an auditor's role and responsibilities in planning, conducting, reporting, and following up on a business continuity management system audit in line with ISO 19011. (and ISO 17021 where appropriate)
Skills:
- Plan, conduct, report on, and follow up on an audit of a business continuity management system to determine compliance (or lack thereof) with ISO 22301 and ISO 19011. (and ISO 17021 where appropriate)

- For audit application, interpret ISO 22301 requirements.
- Auditing actions that bring genuine value should be planned, carried out, and followed up on.
- Understand how to apply risk-based thinking, leadership, and process management.

- Increase stakeholder trust by conducting audits in accordance with the most recent regulations.
Prerequisites: Delegates are expected to have prior knowledge of the following topics:
- The PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle.
- The fundamental components of a management system, as well as the interdependence of top management responsibilities, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review, and continuous improvement.
- Business continuity management principles include business impact analysis, risk assessment, business continuity strategies and solutions, business continuity plans and procedures, and compliance with legal and other obligations.
- The relationship between business continuity management and the provision of more secure and resilient companies, risk management, and proactive enhancement of business continuity performance.
- Common national and local examples of applicable business continuity legislation and regulations.
ISO 22301
Knowledge of ISO 22301 requirements and commonly used business continuity management terminologies and definitions, as defined in ISO 22301, which can be obtained by completing our ISO 22301 Requirements training course or the equivalent.
What exactly is included?
- This training content will be provided as a virtual classroom with the Aim Vision Safety tutor through Aim Vision Safety's Connected Learning Live Platform. This gives the delegate the option of participating from the comfort of his or her own home or workplace, rather than having to go to the Aim Vision Safety site. A steady internet connection, a headset with a USB connection, and a quiet and acceptable work environment are all required. A 'testing room' will be set up ahead of time for delegates to ensure their hardware works and that they can fully participate in the session.
- The exam will be administered online through the e-assessment platform 'Questionmark.' The delegate's webcam and microphone will be used for invigilation.
- You will be issued a globally recognised our Training Academy certificate upon completion.
